After that, catch me at The Artisan Stack in Bridgeport alongside Lila Rebel, Trashing Violet, Illuminous, and Hot Moms. Come through!

I needed a day to organize in my heart the passing of a great person and friend, Leo Sunday. Leo was more than a talented musician. He was a steady, generous force in our music community, deeply dedicated to building connection through the events he organized and the people he brought together. He showed up, listened, and made places for other musicians to shine. In this photo he's in the back, just as he so often did in life, putting others first without needing recognition. We hold his family close in our hearts, wishing them peace, comfort, and strength. Thank you for the music, and the love you gave so freely. Love you, Leo
Gunpowder is the first spark from my upcoming full-length album. A story telling folk song, it began with a simple, audacious image: writing your name in gunpowder, just to hear it said out loud. To make something loud but irreversible for the sake of the sense of emotional truth, but with a pulse on the place of angry hurt which makes for an unreliable narrator who shouldn't garner your sympathy. The track captures intimacy, anger, and the burn of loss that feels very, very loud.
The song features pedal steel and guitar from recording artist and producer Stephen Peter Rodgers. Warm acoustic texture on the banjo are provided by Jeffrey Pierpoint. Jay Miles shapes the complexity of the song on drum kit with artistic flexibility.
